The Minneapolis-St Paul area, where the representative serves constituents including tens of thousands of fellow Somali immigrants, faces deployment of approximately 100 federal agents for coordinated enforcement actions.
The timing and targeting of these operations raise questions about potential political motivations, particularly given presidential statements personally attacking the congressional representative during official government proceedings. The administration’s leader used derogatory language to characterize both the representative and the broader Somali community she represents.
